On Saturday 27th February, 2010 the Point Fortin Off-Season Community Football Competition was launched at Clifton Hill Grounds, Point Fortin. This is a joint project between Atlantic LNG of Point Fortin and Point Fortin Sports and Fitness Services.

The competition aimed initially at bringing communities together for a common good, attracted  twelve teams but was limited to eight to avoid ‘running over’ into the regular football season. The teams represented a tapestry of the community and included Mahaica United, Cap-de-Ville United, Techier United, Uprising Youths, Black Gold, Trendsetters Sports Club, Point Ligoure United and Atlantic LNG United.

The turn-out at the opening was a very good one with Black Gold winning the March Past.

March Past Winners: Black Gold

Mahaica United won the first competitive game on the day beating Cap-de-Ville United 3 goals to none.

Games are played at Coronation Park and Gonzales Recreation Ground almost every day up to Thursday 25th March, 2010 from 4:30 p.m. (see Fixtures). Generous cash prizes and other incentives are being offered to all participating teams.

Seminars aimed at developing the coaches, administrators and managers are scheduled for the Point Fortin Indoor Arena on Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th April, 2010 from 9:00 a.m.

The Closing-Off Ceremony / Prize Distribution Function is scheduled for Clifton Hill Savannah at 2 p.m. on Saturday 24th April, 2010. Music will again be supplied by DJ Katcracker of Point Fortin.
