POST CARNIVAL LOSSES

Wednesday, February 13th, 2008

The past few days proved to be very trying or should I say testing for our community. Having to deal with quite a few tragic incidents; the passing of Liesel Belfon, Lennox “Charlie” Humphrey, Marlon Bennet, Mr. Harewood and now someone in the guest book mentioned Wendell Kerr and T-Brown.

Liesel was the sister of my classmate at EC school, Ronnie Belfon and niece of former National Basketballer, Larry “Engine” Belfon. Lennox and I were work colleagues at Trinmar and Mr. Harewood was the father of Fitzroy Harewood who I consider as one of our scholars waiting to be given national recognition. Marlon, Wendell & T-Brown were very popular “around the block”.

Apart from those mentioned departures, I personally had to deal with a situation where a very close friend and work colleague had a vehicular accident which resulted in one of his leg being amputated. To sum it all up … Post carnival is not being easy.

As is customary, this website would like to give the public the opportunity to offer their condolences, words of comfort and support to grieving family and friends.
