YVONNE LEWIS

Coline Lewis leans on her dad William. Arthur is next while Willone stoops upfront.
The village of Guapo has lost a mother. Yvonne Lewis, the wife of William “Uncle Willie” Lewis, a true cultural pioneer for the community, has passed on to the majestic kingdom to meet the author of creation. She was called home on Thursday June 12th 2008. Aunty Yvonne’s journey on this plane was one of happiness and as she crosses another path, her passing is commemorated as a celebration of her life.
Her children, Coline, Arthur and Willone, will always remember the joy they shared as a family. The good times will never fade and as the generation of grand children, Jayvon, Jenille, Luke and Leslee inherits the pleasant qualities of a remarkable matriarch.
As she transcends to glory, she will be watching over those who still reside at this level, including her Mother, Stella Barrimond, Daughter in Law Debra, Son in Law Renwick, Brothers in Law, Chris Josiah, Leslie and Colville. Her good friends Kathleen Richardson and Merline will surely miss her companionship.
Aunty Yvonne will make her final journey on Monday June 16th from the Gonzales Roman Catholic Church @ 3:00pm before her rest at the Brighton Cato Cemetery.

It is with deep saddest that I received this news and and my heartfelt sympathies to Coline, Mr. Wille, Arthur and Willone. Mr. Yvonne was “always there” with a friendly smile and good conversation. She was a “constant” in the village, epitomizing maternal qualities and a simplicity that was profound and lasting. I recall my recent conversation with her a few weeks ago and I “emphatise” with Mr. Wille as he recalled their days together with me yesterday. Coline Arthur and Willone must take comfort in a life well lived. God’s Blessing to you all. Fitzroy Harewood.

“Blessed are they that mourn, for they shall be comforted”. For Aunty Yvonne I pray as God has taken her to his bosom that we on earth remember her beautiful spirit and treasure the memories of the time we have spent with her and the many ways she has touched our lives, for she certainly did touch mine. Arthur, I will keep you and your family in my prayers. Much Love and Many Blessings. Stephanie.

To Mr Wilie,Arthur,Coline and Willone
As a lifetime neighbour I have nothing but pleasant memories of Mrs Yvonne. How could I forget that smiling face gracefully framed by the curtains of that Kichen window. This was her domain. She was Queen of this Home. Her cool spirit and dedication to her family’s welfare is an attribute that is worthy of all aspiration.
Mr Willie and family, our prayers are with you.I can’t imagine the pain in which you are presently engulfed.Just remember that God is still GOOD,and “weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning”.

To Willie,
Please accept our deepest sympathy with the passing of your dearly beloved. We hope that you can muster up the strength to carry on with life without your lifelong companion.
Funny that this is the third recorded passing of present or former residents from the scheme as we know it in the past two weeks.

Coline:
Please accept my sympathy as I mourn with you and your family at this sorrowful time. Look to the Lord our God for strengh, courage and understanding that heaven is making way for yet another angel from our community. Losing a mother is very deep and the road ahead will be tough but stay strong and count on your family circle for the support and courage you will endure and remember that you have a community that is also grieving with you and sharing your loss and will be there for you in body, mind and spirit and in prayer for when the times gets tough. We all mourn with you and your family for your loss but the fond memories of your mom, mean that she’s done well and that God will take care.

As soon as I learned about Aunt Yvonne’s passing, I asked God to send his angels to comfort you, Colleen, Arthur and Will. To Mr. Willie, Willone, Coline, and Arthur,
I offer my deepest sympahty over the passing of Ms. Yvonne. I was deeply saddened by the news and I pray that your aching hearts may soon receive comfort. Ms. Yvonne was indeed a special person and left a lasting impression on all who were blessed enough to be graced by her presence. Trinidad will not be the same without her. I will never forget waking up on mornings, looking out the window, and saying, “Good morning Ms. Yvonne.” :-). But take comfort in the fact one day God will open the windows of heaven, say, “Good Morning Yvonne, and she will arise to be joined with all of her loved ones. May the peace of God be with you all in your time of need.
Tammy.

To Arthur and Family:
The LORD is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those who are crushed in spirit.” Psalm 34:18
HE KNOWS THE PAIN OF DEATH
As the darkness of night approaches, there is sadness in the air
The life of the one you love will be no longer there
Though emptiness surrounds you, alas, she’s finally free
She may have lost the battle, but her soul is there with thee
It’s hard to lose a loved one and we may not understand
Put your trust in God the Father and he’ll lead you by the hand
He’ll lead you through the heartache and dry each tear you cry
For God knows the pain of death, when He saw His own Son die
Just as He loved His Son, He loves you just the same
Sometimes it takes a heartache to magnify His name
You’ll be in our prayers

To Uncle Willie, Coleen, Arthur & Lee:
My heart goes out to you. Though lifetime neighbours, we have always been more like family. Ms. Yvonne was like a mother to me and I miss her deeply. Although she is no longer physically here, she will never leave the hearts of the people she has touched with her humor, laughter and good advice. I have always admired her, so constant and strong. She has lived a good life and was a blessing, and even so, very much blessed with a family such as you.
With love,
